Background. Informal caregivers play a critical role in supporting older adults and people with disabilities to remain at home, yet their needs remain insufficiently addressed despite growing recognition in public policy. These challenges are particularly pronounced in Francophone minority communities, where collaboration among researchers, community organizations, and decision-makers remains fragmented.

Objective. This project aims to establish a pan-Canadian Francophone network on informal caregiving to foster interprovincial collaboration, co-create knowledge, and develop shared priorities for research, training, and knowledge mobilization.

Methods. The project will bring together researchers, community organizations, policy-makers, students, and caregivers from Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Manitoba. A strategic planning workshop, working meetings, and knowledge mobilization activities will be used to define a shared research agenda and build sustainable collaborations.

Expected Outcomes. This initiative will lay the foundation for a pan-Canadian Francophone informal caregiving network, strengthen collaboration among academic, community, and policy partners, and support the development of tools, practices, and research initiatives tailored to the realities of Francophone communities, particularly those living in minority settings.
